“Greater Is He That Is In You…”
(From Warriors for Christ Light for the Path – Bi-monthly encouragement in God’s Word)
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
1 John 4:4(KJV)
Have you ever seen a large bird being chased by a small one? I saw that yesterday and thought there is a Spiritual Principle that can be learned from nature. In this case, we often have problems or trials (the Pit -experience) that seem to overcome us, yet do we really remember our God is Bigger?
Think of David and Goliath. If David had kept his eye on what a large giant Goliath was, he would not have even tried to overcome him. However, he kept his eye on the Lord, the Father Creator of the whole universe. Compared to our God, our problems are very small for He is Greater. So, if you’re dealing with a problem or a trial claim His truth, THAT HE IS GREATER.
CLAIM HIS TRUTH TODAY-
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
“In all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.”
Romans 8:37
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
John 15:7
“God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
2 Corinthians 9:8

WARRIORS FOR CHRIST NEWS
- We just received the following letter addressed to the Warriors for Christ Prison Ministry; it is a very amazing testimony:
“Greetings in the name of our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the true Lord of Lords, and Chief of all Chiefs.
My name is David and I am a prison inmate from New York. I have been incarcerated for 37 years, and I am doing a life sentence. The reason I am writing, however, is not only to share my own story of salvation and forgiveness, which I hope will encourage you, but to also let you know I have been praying for Warriors for Christ.
Ever since I was “Born again” back in 1987 the Lord placed it upon my heart to pray for my Native American/First Nations brothers and sisters. Recently I learned of your ministry, and when I did I began to pray for you, too….”
The letter goes on to identify himself as David Berkowitz, who was one of the most notorious criminals in the 1970’s. However, the Lord is full of grace and faithful and saved Brother David out of his sinful life and today he is ministering to others from his prison walls.
If you would like to bring the hope of Jesus to the prisons in the United States and Canada, join the Warriors for Christ Prison Ministry.
Warriors for Christ Prison Ministry has a new coordinator, Kim Long. We are seeing great Christian growth among our brothers as they go through Walking the New Path, the Warriors for Christ discipleship course. If you would like to help write to prisoners, please contact Kim at: kim110long@aol.com. We can always use more volunteers to encourage and show Christ’s love to those behind bars.
- Tacoma First Nations with Robert Soto – We were able to meet and fellowship with Tacoma First Nations, headed up by David and Diane Norman, a couple weeks ago. The evening was filled with food and fellowship, topped off by the Word and dancing by Robert Soto. Please pray for Robert, as he is getting ready to make a trip to Czech Republic to preach the Gospel and dance. He will be taking some young Native dancers with him and covering their costs in addition to his own. He currently needs $16,000. for the trip.

WALKING THE NEW PATH
(Below is an excerpt of the Warriors for Christ discipleship course, Walking the New Path. Each newsletter we add a new section. If you would like to receive Lesson One, email us and we can send you the first lesson by email.)
(LESSON 6 THE CREATER’S WORD – THE BIBLE, Part 4)
- Make time to read and study the Bible
The Holy Spirit inspired each writer of the Bible. The result is there is a unity and harmony because one person, the Spirit of God, wrote all books of the Bible. The Holy Spirit, that inspired the Bible, gives you the power to understand and obey His Word. The Bible is God’s way of talking with you. Through the Bible you can learn who He is, what His plans are for your life and the world around you, and how much He loves you. The Bible tells you what is true and false, and what is good and bad. His Word does not change with time, culture, or man’s changing values.
It is easy to not make the time to read, study, and meditate on His Word. Decide on an action plan on how you are going to study the Bible. Pick a time, a place, and a book of the Bible that you want to read. Have a special place to read the Word; in the living room, study, back yard, beach, or coffee shop. Have a special time – morning, on the way to work, afternoon, evening. Read the Word with your wife/husband and your kids. Discuss how the Word applies to your relationship, and to your family. Read the Word to the whole family, from little kids to the teenagers.
- Underline – It is good to underline or use a highlighter for verses that speak to you and ones important to remember.
- Journal – Keep a journal or take notes on the key words, passages, and messages of the book you are reading. Write down how it applies to your life.
- Claim- Biblical promises or insights that the Lord is giving you. Make notes on the side margin of your Bible. For example, maybe the Lord is asking you to rejoice and brings this to your attention as you read Philippians 4:4. You could write the date next to the verse, when you personally accepted this Word from the Lord for you and thank Him. Through prayer, ask the Lord to make this promise real in your life.
- Meditate – You can read a chapter a day of a book in the Bible such as Luke, Romans, Ephesians, Philippians. Thinking on what you have just read from the Word. For example, how does this affect me? How can I use it to become a better Christian?
- Pray– Talk to God as you read the Bible. You can stop and pray as you are reading. The book of Psalms is great to use to read and pray. Maybe as you read the Word, you are “convicted” of a sin you need to confess, ask God’s forgiveness or maybe a praise of thanks comes to mind. At the end, it is good to end your devotional time in prayer. Keep a list of prayer requests and needs in your notebook and as God answers your requests “check them off.” This helps our faith in Father Creator and how He really does care about you!
2 Timothy 2:15
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
? What is your best time and place to study God’s Word?
