Warriors
for Christ Web site
- As we write, we’ve had almost
had 1,000 visitors to our site! That's not bad for only 4
months.
- We are still constructing the link
page. Take a look at our categories and let us know your
suggestions. We want it to be a resource for both the
Christian and non-Christian Native "surfer".
- We have had two questions asked us
recently on Native Cultural / spiritual traditions. One
on smudging and the other on dream catchers. This is how
we answered the question on smudging: "We don’t use
smudging in our services or discipleship training. The
reason is that smudging in the traditional Native belief is
for the purpose of cleansing a person. The only way to
be cleansed is through the blood of Jesus Christ and the work
He did. We cannot cleanse ourselves." Let us
know your thoughts on this and other traditional symbols –
the sweat lodge, pipe, Pow Wows, etc.
Warriors
for Christ Organizational News
In July, Warriors for
Christ had its 2nd Annual meeting. The board
members are Pastor Frank East, (Cherokee/Apache) Vice President;
Sandy Seubert (Omaha/Lakota), Secretary/Treasurer; and Gordon
Shadburne, President.
The Board has
approved the creation of an Advisory Council for WFC. This
council will include Native Pastors and other Native
leadership. The purpose of the Advisory Council is to advise
us on our discipleship material, web site, activities, etc. to
help us network with other ministries in a spirit of unity.
Walking
a New Path
(Part 2 from Lesson 1: Basic Discipleship Course)
ARE YOU ON THE RIGHT PATH?
There are so many
paths – so many ways you can follow. How can you know
which is the right path? Are there many paths to reach our
Father-Creator? The answer is NO! There is ONLY
ONE TRUE PATH to our Heavenly Father – to heaven –
that leads to the place of harmony and peace. It’s through
His son, JESUS CHRIST.
Do you know
Jesus? Not just the name, but as a person – as
Father-Creator’s son that wants to have a personal relationship
with you.
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Time spent together
through prayer (talking to Jesus about your problems, exciting
events, hurts, etc.), reading the Bible (Jesus will speak to you
as you read), putting Jesus as the most important person in your
life and doing what He says to do (being obedient) are all
important to walk closely with Jesus Christ.
Maybe you went to a
tent revival and went forward, or at church you walked up the isle
or a close friend or relative introduced you to Jesus, but the key
question is do you really have Jesus as your Savior and Lord?
Jesus tells us in His
Word a story (parable) of a farmer who planted seeds in his
fields. The seeds are a symbol of how the Word of God is
received in our lives and what we do with the understanding it
gives us.
AS THE FARMER THROWS OUT
THE SEEDS, THE SEED FALLS ON:
Hard soil - the person
doesn't care, no change takes place. Satan makes the person's
heart hard.
Rocky soil - at first
there seems to be a real faith in Jesus, but there is a lack of
real change, no real understanding and belief, but only short
lived emotional reaction.
Thorny soil - weeds -
you hear the "Good News’ but other things seem more
important; worries, tradition, drugs, alcohol, friends and
relatives, T. V., etc. so you don’t follow Jesus.
Good soil - takes root
and grows producing full crop - you hear Father-Creator’s Word,
accept it by faith and water it by God’s Word
(discipleship). You grow in Father-Creator’s power and
live an abundant, victorious life.
There are many ways we can respond to
Christ’s offer of salvation (The Good News).
How did you respond to Christ’s
offer of salvation, the Good News? Have you rejected His
offer? Did you get excited but there’s no real change in
your life? Did you want to accept Christ but are distracted
by other desires you have? Or have you accepted Jesus in
your heart and are committed to walk His path?
Prayer Requests
- Please pray for a spiritual
awakening among Native Americans across the United States and
Canada.
- Please pray that as we reach out
in love that the Lord will speak through us in a way that
Native Americans can understand and receive the love of Jesus.
- Please pray that the people that
God has chosen to be on the WFC Advisory Council will be open
to this opportunity.
- As WFC reaches out for financial
funding, please pray that the Lord will provide the funds for
this important ministry to Native Americans.
Join the WFC Prayer

Warrior Council
Faithfully be involved in giving financially on a monthly basis to
Warriors for Christ.
We pray that each one
of you will prayerfully ask the Lord how you are to be involved
with WFC. Please visit our web site and click on "How I
can help" to join the Prayer Circle and Warrior Council.
"But thanks be to
God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you
know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain".
