Father-Creator's Word

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
1 John 3:16 (NIV)

Traditions

Each year our family goes to the same tree farm here in Oregon to cut down a Christmas tree. It’s an activity that all our kids look forward to each year.

After we cut the tree, we each pick out a new ornament. We mark each one with the year it was purchased and the initials of the one who chose it. It is always such a fun time for us all and a time we can come together as a family and enjoy each other. When each of our older children has gotten married we give them a box with their ornaments so that they can have them on their own tree.

It was really fun this year because our oldest son, his new wife and our grandson joined us. Our son was so excited to be passing this tradition down to his son. They had already prepared a box to put Caden’s first ornament in. It’s so important to be passing on these good traditions to our children and grandchildren. Not only is it fun and memory – filled, it also gives children stability and love.

Have a Merry Christmas and develop a positive family tradition!

Walking the New Path
(Part 3, Lesson 3)

B. JESUS CHRIST WAS SENT FROM FATHER-CREATOR FOR US - He is our Savior, our bridge to Father-Creator

1. SAVIOR
Jesus was sent from the Father because each of us has “sinned.” Adam and Eve, the first people were disobedient to God by eating the fruit they were told not to eat. Thus, they brought sin into the human race. Because of their disobedience all human beings are born with a sinful nature.

Because of our sinful nature our relationship with the loving and righteous Father-Creator has been broken. Since God is righteous and holy he cannot live in the presence of sin.

Due to this sin, we cannot live with our Father - Creator in heaven. Instead without the grace of God we will go to this place of separation we call hell (a place that was made for demons or fallen angels, NOT for mankind).

Our Father-Creator who loves us so much wanted to restore the relationship – fellowship with us. As we cannot live a perfect, holy and righteous life on our own God made a way to restore this relationship by sending his only son to live the holy life we cannot live. Then He made a great sacrifice. He took our sins away through his sacrificial death on the cross. As a Christian, our old nature died with Christ and our Father-Creator gave us a new life , a rebirth through the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 - All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

NOTE: Giving flesh at the sun pole (sacrifice), or going to the sweat lodge or smudging (to purify ourselves), is our way of trying to cleanse and make ourselves acceptable to God. But, the only path the Father - Creator has made a sacrifice to purify us through giving his son as a sacrifice for us.

2. LORD OF ALL
When we accept Jesus into our life, He not only becomes our “Savior”, but also our “”Lord”.

We put Jesus in charge of our life, knowing that He knows what is best for us. We are limited in what we know, but He has wisdom and knowledge. He knows everything about us, past, present and future. We accept His loving and caring direction for our lives.

We should ask ourselves: “What would Jesus say?” “What would Jesus do?”

Romans 10:11-13 - For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same {Lord} is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him; for "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

Romans 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Native Prayer Requests

  • "My prayer is mainly for my relationship in life. I pray that God gives me and the person whom I love the power to love each others honestly, faithfully and live by the word of our lord. Although my relationship is sunk ,I have faith that my God will restore all back to the best..so that both of us will be in a succesful Christ centred life and relationship. Amen.”
    - Neil, Cherokee
  • "I am associated with the Chapel ministries program at the US Naval Academy. I have a burden for the handful of Native young adults that join the Brigade of Midshipmen each year (roughly about 15-18 each year). My family sponsors a number of "Mids" each year and provides some love, care, and "home-away-from-home" for them. I presently have a beautiful "daughter" (Navajo) and delightful "son" (Choctaw/Cherokee) who are very close to receiving Jesus as their Savior. I ask that you agree with me in prayer that the Spirit will continue to move upon the hearts of these two young people and that they will commit their lives to Christ. I pray that Satan will be bound and that he will have no power or ability to spiritually harass these young people as they face this time of decision. Please pray for me as I stand with with them on this part of their life journey. May God give me the words and actions to be the guide and encourager they need and God would have me to be at this time."
