Father-Creator's Word

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-- the fruit of lips
that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others,
for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Hebrews 13:15-16

It's A Miracle!!

After much prayer and council, WFC decided to relocate to Port Townsend WA. But by the time we fixed up and sold our Portland headquarters, the real estate prices in Port Townsend had gone up 35% - we were even told by two real estate people that this area was too expensive for our ministry budget. We decided to step out in faith because we really felt the Lord wanted us to put our new headquarters here.

Warriors for Christ needed enough land for our home, a discipleship center for training, areas for study and prayer, and room for people to stay with us who are being discipled. Praise the Lord! He provided this and much, much more and at less than half the market value!

We are in the midst of purchasing 5 beautiful, wooded acres which already include a very nice manufactured home for our family, a very large 3 car garage that we can turn into our discipleship center, and another outbuilding that we are going to turn into a study – prayer area. As funds are raised we can add an additional dwelling (ADU) for Native pastors and future regional directors so they can stay with us while being trained in the use of WFC’s discipleship course “Walking the New Path.” It has even been suggested to have a gathering of yurts (similar to a Navajo Hogan) that can be used for housing on the property – there are so many possibilities! Let us know if you have any suggestions.

Please be in prayer. We need volunteers and finances to develop this property – buildings into the WFC discipleship headquarters.

Native News

  • More Native students enter college: More students are realizing what can be gained through education. Many are beginning their education at a tribal college. Native enrollment at reservation-based colleges is growing at twice the rate of Native enrollment at four-year colleges or universities. Student enrollment figures at tribal colleges grew by 32 percent between 1997 and 2002, compared to 16 percent enrollment growth at four-year colleges overall, according to a 2005 report by the National Center for Education Statistics.
  • Language device finds its way to Indian Country: An electronic device originally designed for the military has become a new tool in the effort to preserve Native languages. The Phraselator is a hand-held computer. It can replay words, phrases or entire passages in another language
  • Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to use grant to fight suicide: The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is using a $400,000 federal grant to combat suicide. The money is coming from the Department of Health and Human Services. It will help fund a mental health outreach program. The tribe has experienced a high rate of youth suicide. In just two months in late 2004-early 2005, three teenagers and two young people took their lives. During the same time, 30 young people attempted suicide or made a suicide threat.
  • IHS doctor named Indian Physician of the Year: Kelly Moore, a member of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma, has been named Indian Physician of the Year by the Association of American Indian Physicians. Moore, a 1983 graduate of the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine, has been with the Indian Health Service for nearly 20 years. She is considered an expert in diabetes, a disease that has ravaged the American Indian and Alaska Native population.

Walking the New Path
(Lesson 3, Part 6)

Below is an excerpt of the Warriors for Christ discipleship course. Each newsletter we add a new section. Visit our first newsletters on the homepage or email us if you want previous lessons.

6. Christ is our Provider - He will supply our needs.  We should not claim all our “wants”, but we can claim all our needs.

John 15:7
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.”

Philippians 4:19
“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

What has Jesus Christ done for you?

D. Walking in Christ's Steps

a. Walk in His Love
John 13:34 - A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

b. Walk in His Peace
Colossians 3:15 - Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

c. Walk in His Power
Philippians 1:6 - ...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

d. Walk in His Righteousness
Romans 3:22 - This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

Walking the Path
1. Share with a friend or a member of your family what you have learned about Christ. See your notes:

  1. Who is Jesus Christ?

  2. What Christ has done for you.

  3. Jesus is you _______________...

2. In section D “Walking in Christ’s steps” choose one area – love, peace, power, etc. and pray every day that Jesus will help you in the chosen area.

Light for the Path
Memorize one of the following for your next meeting with your discipler:

John 8:36
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Hebrews 2:18
“Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”

Philippians 4:19
“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Romans 8:38 39
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Talking to my Father-Creator
Suggested prayer:

Dear Father-Creator,

Thank you for giving us your son, Jesus. Thank you for allowing me to come to you through my relationship with your son. Help me become more like Him. Remind me how Jesus would react to those around him. As I walk through this life let me act towards others the way Jesus would. Thank you for your grace and mercy. You are a great God, full of love for me. May my faith grow in you as I see your great love and wondrous works in my life.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
