New
International Headquarters!
The Lord has blessed Warriors for
Christ with a fantastic new International headquarters! On
November 13th, we closed on 5 acres of forest with a
manufactured home and a pole barn/garage which we are going to
convert into WFC's discipleship center.
The pole barn will house our
office, a study area with a woodstove and a conference area for
discipleship training. It will also include a loft, storage, and
an extra space for a bedroom. In addition to the Discipleship
Center there is another outbuilding which we are going to turn
into a retreat area for study and prayer. We also plan to put a
prayer walk through the forest. It will have 16 areas to
meditate on His Word and pray. Each area will be based on one of
the 16 lessons from “Walking the New Path” discipleship
course.
We
can also build an “ADU” (additional dwelling unit) for people to
stay with us during discipleship training – Native Pastors,
Native leadership, and our Regional Directors. After their
training they will be working with churches using the
discipleship course, in urban areas and reservations/reserves
throughout North America. We are considering a central longhouse
or yurt that will house kitchen facilities and dining room, etc.
with additional smaller yurts for bedrooms.
Native
News
-
Native Americans filed a class-action lawsuit last month in
another attempt to end a decades-long struggle with the
government over the mismanagement of tribal trust funds. The
nonprofit Native American Rights Fund filed the lawsuit on
behalf of over 250 Indian tribes. The plaintiffs are seeking
accurate accountings from the US Department of the Interior (DOI)
for money that is held in trust funds for Indians by the federal
government. The money, which is generated from drilling,
foresting, and other activities that take place on Native
American property, is collected for dispersal by the government.
-
Navajo Nation Council has established a Navajo Nation Code
Talkers Day, a tribal holiday to be held every Aug. 14. ''In all
the war histories of the United States, no other language other
than English was used except in World War II, when the United
States for the first time in its military history used the
Navajo people and used Navajo words to win the war,'' said
Council Delegate Larry Anderson of Fort Defiance, the sponsor of
the holiday measure.

The recent Native American Film and Video Festival confirmed it:
There is a spectacular growth under way in the number of Native
filmmakers and the quality of their productions. Organized by
the Film and Video Center of the National Museum of the American
Indian, the 13th Native American Film and Video Festival took
place in New York Nov. 30 - Dec. 3. The festival screened 130
films and shorts by Native directors, producers, writers,
actors, musicians and technicians. More than 10,000 people
attended the screenings, which were free.

Paul Lumley, a member of the Yakama Nation of Washington, has
been named the executive director of the National American
Indian Housing Council. Lumley was chosen by NAIHC's board of
directors. "Mr. Lumley brings to NAIHC a wide-ranging background
on issues that directly impact American Indians and Alaska
Natives and will provide the kind of strong leadership and
decisive managerial skills required to lead a national Indian
organization," said Marty Shuravloff, the chairman of the board.

the New Path
(Lesson 4)

Each newsletter we add a new section. Visit our first
newsletters on the homepage or email us if you want previous
lessons.
A. Who is the Holy
Spirit?
Isaiah 11:2
"The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-- the Spirit of wisdom
and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the
Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD."
1. The Holy Spirit is
God - The Holy Spirit has the same character - nature as
Father-Creator and Jesus. Even though Father-Creator, Jesus and
the Holy Spirit have the same nature they have different roles
that they play.
a. The Holy Spirit
is everywhere - We can't hide from the Holy Spirit, He
is at all places, all times.
Psalm 139:7
"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your
presence?"
Note: Even though
the Holy Spirit is everywhere He does not live in material
things i.e. trees, rocks, mountains, animals.
b. The Holy Spirit
is all-knowing - He has perfect knowledge. He knows
everything. He knows all our thoughts - past, present, and
future.
1 Corinthians 2:10-11
"But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit
searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among
men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within
him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the
Spirit of God."
c. The Holy Spirit
is eternal - He has always been and always will be. He
was with Father-Creator and Jesus Christ when they created the
earth.
Psalms 90:1-2
"Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all
generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth
the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are
God."
Daniel 4:3
"How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is
an eternal kingdom; his dominion endures from generation to
generation."
d. The Holy Spirit
is spirit not physical - Like the wind, you can feel it
but not see it. Look at the power of a tornado or hurricane that
can blow down mighty trees, or tall trees, or even move oceans.
Genesis 1:2
"Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the
surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the
waters."
John 3:8
"The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you
cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is
with everyone born of the Spirit."
