Father-Creator's
Word
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens."
Psalm 8:1
Traditions
Hi! I want to share with you what I
was raised in my family from as far back as I can remember. I am
Cree - Ojibwa from Sask, Canada. My family has always had the
Spirit of the Lord and taught us about Him even though we learnt
the hard way in residential school. When we were younger, my
Uncles would wake us up early and being young we didn't know the
big deal about it, but we got up anyway, The adults, my mooshum
(grandpa) and uncles would be sitting outside the shack with
their tea and we would watch the sun come up Easter morning. My
mooshum would say, This is the only time the sun will dance,
because this is the day the Son has risen. Jesus is the only one
who can make it dance, because of what He has done. We got
Jesus' name in Cree. My Uncle still phoned me and reminded me
to get up and watch the sun dance. He said sometimes on some
Easters it will also make the sign of the cross. That is the
reminder that Jesus was here a long time before the white man
came to the Indians. Every Easter I am grateful for those
teachings... thank you......Grace, Cree Ojibwa

Artman jumps into new job as head of BIA
A month into the job, the new head of the Bureau of Indian
Affairs doesn't expect gaming to take the spotlight in the
remaining years of the Bush administration. Carl Artman, a
member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, is instead focusing on
some of the core issues in Indian Country. They include public
safety, education and economic development. "Those three
combined will have both a short term and long term impact" on
American Indians and Alaska Natives, Artman said in an interview
in his Washington, D.C., office yesterday.

2. The Holy Spirit
is the Spirit of Truth
Through the Holy Spirit we get wisdom and knowledge.
Through prayer and reading the Word the Holy Spirit speaks to
us. The Holy Spirit can guide us if we are willing to listen to
Him. We all need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.
John 16:13
"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you
into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only
what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come."
James 3:17
"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable,
gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering,
without hypocrisy.
1 Corinthians
2:12-13
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the
Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely
given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words
taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit,
combining spiritual {thoughts} with spiritual {words.}
B. How does the Holy
Spirit help us?
1. Empowers Us -
Through the power He gives as Christians, He checks the power
and actions of Satan. He gives us power to overcome drugs,
alcohol and other habits that hurt our families and us.
Acts 1:8
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on
you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Romans 15:13
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you
trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of
the Holy Spirit."

"My family isn't doing too well. Common
story: Parents never stop working because they have to raise
their children. Not all of their kids yet realize how hard their
parents have work for ther future. Working night and day since
they were children themselves, never having time to rest, their
health is going downhill. Me, the oldest, is trying, but she
isn't a millionaire yet. Thinking that money will solve
everythng, but in reality, it is not. I know that the true
happiness is having her family back and feeling the warm love
all around. Please pray for my family. Thank you." Anonymous

"Here "in Northern Canada there is an
urgent need for workers and prayer. There is a huge wall of
separation between us and the church. Please pray for unity, and
collective peace. With all of the reserves in the area, we are
still viewed as "pagan witches" and it is frustrating, and
creates an enormous separation between our two Nations." Lesley,
