Of course needless to say I am what I call a "Generic Christian". That is I am not tie strongly to any denomination but try to put Jesus first in my life. It looks to me that in the past many well intentioned Christians that went into the mission field were putting their denomination and culture first ahead of Christ. The rest is history. From what I see in going to the Longhouse I think there is alot of potential for Indians the serve Christ in a big way without leaving their culture and values behind. MESSAGE: I am a Christian mother. I live in South Carolina. I have always been fascinated with Native Americans. Their ways, culture, and their identity as humans and not savages as our white ancestors liked to call them. I have often wondered if missionaries minister to these people. Because just like people in other counties need missionaries to bring them the gospel, we need them in out country as well. I admire your mission and am saddened to know that only 2% of the Native American communities attend the church. I cannot speak for our ancestors who took the land which these beautiful lived on an forced them out against their will. But I can pray that each and everyone will come to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Only God our Father in Heaven knows the answers to the questions I am sure many of the Native American brothers and sisters still have about the "White Man" who invaded their land.
